Why would you move your bedroom downstairs? You’ll never be able to have guests over. That seems like a lot of unnecessary work just for your dogs.
These are some of the comments TikTokker @heatheruhoh heard when she told people she moved her bed downstairs so that her senior dogs would be more comfortable.
She recently shared a sweet video of her new living arrangements and captioned it, “I would make any sacrifice necessary just to ensure Duggy and Buster have the best and most comfortable life possible.”

The video quickly went viral and has gotten over a million views. Duggy and Buster sure look like they appreciate their mom’s gesture and love the comfy bed.
Many dog lovers wholeheartedly agree with @heatheruhoh reasons and said so.
Kat wrote, “Anyone who doesn’t understand is frankly not worth inviting over.”
“Who needs guests? I’d literally put a mattress on my living room floor for my dogs,” Havoc955 said.
Diana on TikTok wrote, “No one understands unless they’ve had their babies for so long. You’ll do anything for them, they’ve supported you through so much.” @heatheruhoh responded, “So true. They are there for me no matter what, so it’s the least I could do for them.”
Other people shared what they’ve done for their senior dogs to like their final years more comfortable. TikTokker Benny and Braun said, “I slept down stairs for 6 months with my senior boy. A few dog lovers shared that they didn’t use a bed. SpeckleKae wrote, “I slept on a hardwood floor next to my old Rottweiler who became immobile due to cancer.” Clara Forrest did a similar thing, writing, “My elderly dog had severe vestibular disease. I slept on that damn floor with him for over a year. I’d do it again to any of my dogs in a heartbeat.”
Anthony shared, “I carried my 70lb boy upstairs every night so he could sleep with us when he couldn’t climb stairs anymore. We lost him 6 months ago.”
@heatheruhoh had posted an earlier video of Duggy and Buster, showing how Buster can’t get up the stairs any more but Duggy would wait for his pal. This no doubt prompted her decision to move her bed downstairs.

Other dog owners shared that they did the exact same thing. Louie Villalobos, shared, “I started sleeping in the living room for our elder dog. He passed months ago and I still can’t bear to go downstairs. RIP Ratchet.”
Other dog lovers knew exactly why @heatheruhoh made the decision, knowing their dogs would do it for them in a heartbeat.
