Good Samaritan Rescues Homeowner’s Pets From Fire After Using Ring Video Doorbell To Alert Family

A jogger in a California neighborhood was in the right place at the right time to help save a family’s home and their beloved pets from a house fire.

Courtney Polito and her family were out of town when a Good Samaritan noticed smoke coming from their roof. The man quickly ran to their door and rang their door bell, which happened to be a Ring Video device.

Polito noticed the man running urgently back in forth in front of the camera so she answered the call. The man said, ‘Hello, do you see there’s smoke coming out of the top of your house?’

That’s when she overheard the smoke alarms going off and realized that her pets were in danger. She told the stranger her code so he code go inside and rescue the family’s two Dachshunds, a rabbit and cat. To the man’s credit he didn’t hesitate.

Thanks to the mystery jogger’s fast actions firefighters were able to arrive much sooner thanks to the 911 call. The fire department later told the family that 10 more minutes and their home would have been gone! As it was, the garage was the only part of the home with damage. And most importantly their pets were all safe!

Polito doesn’t know who the stranger was (he asked to remain anonymous and didn’t stick around after his heroic deed) but she’s incredibly thankful.
