English Bulldog Shares Kisses With Wild Manatee

A man out kayaking in Florida had a delightful encounter with a manatee when the animal exchanged kisses with his English Bulldog, Frapp. Frapp is seen in a lifejacket and is looking over the edge of the kayak as the sea cow swims next to them as they paddle.

The English Bulldog eagerly wants to say ‘hi’ to the sea cow and the manatee is also very curious about the dog. Dad makes sure to caution Frapp to not get too excited and Frapp impatiently waits for his new friend to surface.

The pair end up rubbing noses and giving each other kisses in a delightful exchange that makes Frapp’s owner laugh. Watch their adorable encounter below.

It should be noted that people enjoying water sports should take precautions around manatees as they are protected under federal law by the Endangered Species Act of 1973, which makes it illegal to harass, hunt, capture or kill any marine mammal.

The general rule around manatees is “look, but don’t touch.”

And although it is adorable to see Frapp interacting with the manatee, it’s probably safest to keep pets away from wild animals for both of their safety.
