Dog Refuses to Leave Veteran’s Side After She Plummets 300 Feet Down Mountain

A heroic dog kept her warm and comforted her and kept her from going into shock. Navy veteran Brittany Fintel, 32, was hiking to the summit of Washington’s Mount St. Helens with her German shepherd, Indy, when she slipped on ice and plummeted 300 feet down a steep slope.

“Once I slipped, I thought I was dead,” said Fintel. But her loyal companion ran down the slope to come to her aid, and he never left her side.

Watch the video below as Fintel recounts how her faithful friend kept her alive until help arrived.
