63 Deaf Dancers Perform Incredibly Beautiful Dance Of A Thousand Hands

This elaborate dance is remarkable not only for its intricacy and beauty but also because it was performed by 63 hearing-impaired dancers.

Thousand Hand Guan Yin was a dance created by Chinese choreographer Zhang Jigang and performed by the China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe.

The dance interprets the legend that Bodhisattva Guan Yin (the goddess of compassion and mercy), who has one thousand hands. She vows, “if there is still a single tear drop in this world, I will not become a Buddha.”

Because the dancers could not hear the music, there were 6 directors in white clothes, helping them synchronize with the music. The coordination on display in this dance routine is truly amazing!
