Animal rescuers in Detroit received an emergency call about a newborn puppy who had fallen down a narrow and deep pipe. The terrified puppy had been crying out for his mother through the night. Michigan Humane Society Officer Chris Oewerkerk was dispatched to rescue the poor puppy but it wasn’t an easy job. Plumbers, excavating crews and the humane society officers have to work together to dig into the concrete and ground to get to drain pile where he was stuck!
It was a huge undertaking and you can hear the poor puppies heartbreaking whimpering throughout the rescue operation. It’s harrowing and suspenseful moment when they finally get him and pull him out!
“He’s a little fighter,” one newswoman says, relieved that the puppy’s ordeal is over. Chris responds, “He’s a big-time fighter.” He sure is! Thank goodness the little guy is okay. You’ll see the little puppy happily reunited with his mom at the end of the video.
