A few years ago, the Whitis family in Tallahassee, Florida, decided to put up Christmas lights display not only for the holidays but as a way to honor America’s troops and veterans. The Christmas display helped raise funds for the Semper Fi Fund, an organization that helps support injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Army and the positively received far and wide. Their decorative display went on to win the Good Morning America Contest “Our Lights Are Better Than Your Lights.”
