A thirsty baby armadillo was desperately searching for water when he was spotted by an agricultural engineer working out on a dry and desolate field in Tabapora in central west Brazil.
Cristiano Henrique was helping himself to a drink of water when a few drops fell to the ground. He noticed the baby armadillo immediately run over to him and begin digging at the soil, trying to get at any droplet of water.
That’s when kind-hearted Cristiano decided to share a cup with the parched baby animal. The armadillo gulps down two cups before giving him a lick on the hand, as if to say thanks.
The armadillo’s behavior is highly unusual as armadillos are shy animals and rarely make contact with humans. Cristiano noted that the area was unusually dry and the animal was likely having difficulty finding something to drink.
