Since her father’s deployment, 4-year-old Alyssa Brown and her 14-month-old brother Liam have used a ‘daddy doll’ to comfort them whenever they need it. The doll has their father’s photo on it, but it doesn’t come close to having Dad around for real.
Still, the daddy doll provided a lot of comfort for Alyssa and Liam. Just take a look at Alyssa’s emotional reaction when she received the daddy doll as a surprise gift:
So, when Alyssa visited Snow White’s wishing well at California’s Disneyland theme park, she had one thing on her mind: to see her dad again.
“I wish with all my heart that my daddy would come home,” she said while covering both her eyes over the well’s edge.
She never dreamed her wish to be reunited with her father, a Marine serving in Afghanistan, would instantly come true. But that’s exactly what happened, and the magical moment was captured on camera. Make sure you have a tissue handy.
That night as Dad tucked Alyssa into bed, she put both hands on the side of his face & said, “Daddy, my wish came true.” Since the reunion, Alyssa has refused to leave her dad’s side, saying every few minutes, “I missed you Daddy.”
