Be still my heart! A wild baby sea otter was born in the “Great Tide Pool” at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on December 20, 2015 much to the delight of visitors in the area. The tide pool is adjacent to the aquarium and opens up to the ocean, allowing wild marine animals to come into the protected alcove.
In this instance, the mother “sought refuge in the pool to shield her against other animals and the stormy days” writes photographer Connie Levenhagen, who was lucky enough to capture the day old pup and her mom on camera.
Connie shared some additional images of the mother and baby…
How heartmelting are these? Share this cute sea otter and her pup with your friends if you agree!
