Smart Dachshund Needs No Help Playing With The Ball

Jerry the Dachshund needs no help playing with his ball. That’s because he has a fun contraption he can play fetch with.

His human built it especially for him with the intention to have a fun home project for himself and a toy that Jerry would enjoy.

He wrote on YouTube: “I built the ball machine because I thought my dog Jerry, might like it and that it would be something fun for me to build.”

It wasn’t a fast project to finish. Jerry’s human dad explains, “After two years of on and off [again] work, with many safety features such as IR proximity sensors to protect Jerry and my son from the machine, I finally complete[d] [it].

The contraption is quite intricate but what is impressive is how Jerry has figured out how to use it! But the device is not meant to replace the dog and human connection. Jerry’s dad wrote:

“Far from being a replacement for me, I was always right there with him enjoying his fun. And with all the troubles that I went through to build the ball machine, I still end up throwing more balls than that the machine could count!”

And for those that might be wondering if Jerry ever has gone off to play on his own, according to the computer, “he played with the machine by himself only 3 times in his life.”
