Man Has The Happiest Reunion With Dog He Had To Give Up Years Ago

Several years ago, Jose fell on hard times. He was going through a divorce, lost his home and was forced to live in his vehicle. But he could always rely on his dog, Chaos, to help him through his troubles. However, when he hit “rock bottom” he gave Chaos away to a friend of a friend to be looked after.

Months later, Jose got back up on his feet, but he was unable to get Chaos back. He was heartbroken, but he kept Chaos’ microchip current with his data, even though he was no longer with him.

Then, this past week, a Winnebago County Services staff member was at home in South Beloit and found a dog in her driveway. An Animal Services Officer came out and brought the dog back to the shelter.

The dog was wearing a collar with a 2014 National Identification Number and when he was scanned, they found a microchip. It was Chaos!

When Jose received the call from Winnebago County Animal Services he was speechless and broke down in tears! He couldn’t get to the shelter fast enough to pick Chaos up.

The video below is of their tearful reunion. Two years may have passed, but it’s clear that both Jose and Chaos have never forgotten one another.

Jose said he was a little bit nervous because he did get another dog in the past two years and wasn’t sure how they would get along. But he didn’t need to worry. The shelter said that Jose told them his two dogs were getting along great! “As soon as they met, they started playing and running around acting like they have been together since they were puppies!!”

“He also mentioned that the drive home was very eventful and heartfelt,” the shelter wrote on Facebook. “Once Chaos finally settled down in the car after trying to get into Jose’s lap while driving, Chaos just put his head on Jose’s shoulder the entire hour and a half ride home.”
