Subway Performer Soulfully Belts Out ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’

Mike Yung is a regular fixture in the New York subway, where he’s made his living busking for many years. The subway performer has had several videos taken by passers-by go viral, and this one, where he sings Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’, is bound to go viral too.

A person on reddit said that he is so impressed that he will stop and listen to Mike for hours. “I take this train everyday to come home from work. When ever he is around I end up in the station hanging out and just listening for hours,” the redditor wrote. “I just found him on YouTube and I wanted to share.”

Mike commented on the reddit post that highlighted the video, writing, “I was signed to RCA when I was 15 years old. Then I was signed with the help of a grammy winning producer Teddy Vann to Etta Jame’s last label called t electric. The label went bankrupt. My debut album never came out. And this is where I’ve called home for the last 40 years of my life. I hope my music gets me out.”

Last year, Mike appeared on the James Corden TV show and got into the studio to record some songs, which are now available digitally.

Watch, listen and share this wonderful performance with your family and friends!
