Mark Ross got an incredible surprise when he was walking his dogs to his backyard in Wimauma, Florida. He writes, “Walking my dogs to the back yard and could not believe my eyes. There was a huge zebra grazing in my yard! The dogs started barking and spooked the Zebra and it charged at me. I jumped out of the way and grabbed my phone to catch this awesome video!”
Ross guessed correctly that the zebra had escaped from somewhere and tried to corral the fugitive animal. However, the zebra ran away and through Ross’ neighborhood before making its way to a busy road where it charged and smashed a pickup truck, breaking the driver’s side mirror and covering the driver with broken glass.
The zebra then ran into a field where it was chased by a police helicopter and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies. They eventually tired out the zebra and were then able to catch the animal and return it to its private owner.
