When Dahlia noticed a butterfly with a broken wing she knew she had to help him. The monarch butterfly’s wing wasn’t developing properly. Without access to a spare wing, she came up with an ingenious solution – she used a feather!
Although the butterfly couldn’t fly well at first, he eventually adapted to his “bionic” wing and eventually went outside and flew off. She wondered what had happened to the butterfly she named Nemo-Bucky and one day he returned and she could see he was thriving!
“All of our lives are just a short blip here on earth,” Dahlia told the Dodo in her video. “What matters is the connections we make and who we help along the way.” And Dahlia was so inspired by her butterfly friend that she honored her rescue with a tattoo.
