Wrestler Lost His Match, But His Heartwarming Gesture Afterwards Made Him a True Winner

Usually, wrestling matches result in only one winner, but a match that took place last week ended with two clear winners. One opponent won the match, while the other won the hearts of thousands of people.

St. Michael Albertville High School sophomore Mitchell McKee wanted to win the state for his father, who is battling terminal cancer and was given months to live.

The match began with much emotion.

Mitchell prayed, “God help me win this match so I can go win a state title for my dad.”

Around 1:22, Mitchell pinned his opponent.

When Mitchell ended up winning the match, he and his father, who was watching, were understandably proud.

But what Mitchell’s opponent, Malik Stewart did is beyond words. Malik’s thoughtful act left the crowd in tears, and they gave Malik a standing ovation for his classy and respectful gesture. Instead of being angry about losing, Malik walked over to Mitchell’s father and gave him a hug. What a remarkable young man.

Mitchell and his proud dad share a special moment.

This is exactly what Mitchell wanted to do for his dad, and he is clearly overjoyed.
