Fans Save Cat Dangling At Stadium At Hurricanes Game Using The American Flag

When spectators attending a Miami Hurricanes game attended a match at Hard Rock Stadium in 2021 they didn’t realize that there would be an unforeseen drama that included action, suspense, drama and a moment like out of Disney’s Lion King.

A black and white cat appeared out of nowhere dangling from the upper deck. Immediately there were screams and shouts of worry as the cat hung onto the edge.

A couple, Craig Cromer and his wife Kimberly always bring an American flag with them to drape over the railings in front of their seats. Realizing the cat could only hold on for so long, they rushed over to the spot below the cat and got other people to help hold the Stars and Stripes below the feline to try and catch it.

In what seemed to take forever – close to 30 minutes – the cat finally lost his grip and plummeted to the outstretched flag below. A group of students grabbed hold of the cat and held it above their arms to a roar of cheers from the audience.

Emilia Weiss, who has experience in veterinary clinic, looked the cat over for any sign of injury. Both of his hips were out of place and she popped them back into place before the cat became impossible to hold, biting five people before running away into the student section.

The moment went massively viral because it felt like something out of a movie—people gasping, then cheering when the catch worked. But where did the cat go? No one knows as he couldn’t be found but as soon as he disappeared from sight he became an instant internet legend.
