Woman Finds An Injured Starving Pit Bull Curled Up On Her Outdoor Couch

One morning, a woman in Atlanta, Georgia opened her front door to find an injured, starving Pit Bull curled up on the couch on her porch.

Despite having two dogs and a baby inside, she couldn’t ignore him. She gave him food, a warm blanket, and shared his story online, hoping someone could help.

Someone reached out to help foster the dog, now named Capitol. But a short time later, the woman was shocked and upset to learn that Capitol was at the local shelter. She refused to give up on the pittie who had shown up at her doorstep.

That simple act of kindness set off a chain reaction. Capitol was taken in by rescuers, but his journey to a forever home wasn’t easy. He journeyed to a family in West Virginia but experienced another setback when an adoption didn’t work out.

But every time Capitol’s future seemed uncertain, someone else stepped in to help. Eventually, he made his way to a family in Pittsburgh willing to give him the time and patience he needed to decompress and finally feel safe.

Today, Capitol has become the ultimate “Velcro dog.” He loves snuggling with his dad, playing with his senior dog sibling, and enjoying the peaceful life he always deserved.
