Rescued Baby Pig Learns To ‘Bark’ from Her Pit Bull Brother
When Rian, founder of Uncle Neil’s Home animal rescue, got a call about a baby pig living in a pet store, she knew she had to help.
Concerned about the little pig’s future, Rian spoke with the store and explained why she believed Tootsie deserved a different life. Thankfully, they agreed to surrender her to the rescue.
It didn’t take long for Tootsie to make herself at home—especially when it came to digging through the groceries!
Then she met Neil, the rescue’s beloved tripod pit bull. The moment she saw the dog she decided he was her best friend.
Tootsie quickly became attached to Neil, following him everywhere and always wanting to be by his side. She even learned to bark just like him! Patient and gentle, Neil happily watched as Tootsie zoomed around the property, and the two became inseparable playmates.
Once Tootsie was fully vaccinated and a little bigger, she was introduced to the rescue’s other pigs. Today, she spends her days enjoying life outdoors with her pig family, while still wandering up to the house whenever she feels like stopping in to visit.
Thanks to one person’s concern and a rescue willing to step in, Tootsie traded life in a pet store for a home filled with friendship, freedom, and plenty of love.
