This Bird Reveals His 'Hidden Crown' And It Is Amazing To Watch

In the Amazon forests lives a small bird famous for its massive but rarely seen, fan-like crest that is vibrant red in males and yellow-orange in females, often tipped with blue. The Amazonian royal flycatcher inhabit the region’s basin forests, building 6-foot long hanging nests over water to deter predators. Their crest is often referred to as their “hidden crown.” They only raise it during mating, preening, or when threatened.
