The Largest Swimming Pool In The World

Do you enjoy taking a dip in a pool? How about one that covers roughly 20 acres? I think after you see the photos of the swimming pool at San Alfonso del Mar you’ll be adding it to your bucket list.

The private resort in Algarrobo, Chile is home to the world’s largest swimming pool.

It is just over half a mile long (1,013 meters) and contains around 66 million gallons of filtered seawater from the neighboring Pacific Ocean.

No wonder the Guinness Book of World Records made it official in 2006.

With a pool this size, swimming is not the only activity available. You can go sailing.

Of course you can simply go for a swim too. Given that the pool is roughly 6000 normal-sized pools in one you can swim for a very long time.

There’s also sandy beaches for a nice stroll.

The pool cost an estimated $1.5 to $2 billion to build. It costs around $4 million to maintain annually. Considering it’s size, that makes sense!
