Man Without Address Draws Map On Letter And Amazingly, It Gets Delivered

It wasn’t your typically addressed envelope that appeared on a letter bound to Iceland.

Instead, it was a hand-drawn map to a farm and, incredibly, it was delivered by one of the country’s clever postal worker.

A photo of the envelope was posted to Reddit with the explanation that the letter was sent by an Icelandic tourist. It outlines the country “Iceland” and the city “Búðardalur” and the recipient as “a horse farm with an Icelandic/Danish couple and three kids and a lot of sheep”.

The sender added that the letter was intended for “the Danish woman [who] works in a supermarket in Búðardalur”. There was even a helpful drawing of the roads and nearby bay of Hvammsfjörður.

The letter was mailed in Reykjavík by the tourist who had visited the Hólar farm, which is a small tourist attraction with a “mini petting zoo”. But the individual couldn’t find an exact address and improvised.

The instructions proved to be good enough for the postman and the letter was indeed delivered to the Danish woman living there.
