Inspiring Teenage Runner With Multiple Sclerosis Refuses To Stop Despite Not Feeling Her Legs

This is an incredible story of courage and perseverance! Kayla Montgomery has become one of the best young long distance runners in the United States, despite having multiple sclerosis (MS).

MS is a devastating disease that attacks the central nervous system and affects the limbs, muscles and body’s coordination. There is no known cure for multiple sclerosis. After her diagnosis, Kayla had to give up soccer. She took up running instead. She told her coach she wanted to make the most of every day.

Running with MS presents unique challenges for her. When she runs, she can’t feel her legs and every time she crosses the finish line her coach has to catch her from falling. Despite these difficulties, she continues to run.

When I saw her cross the finish line at one of her races, I couldn’t stop crying. Share her inspiring story with your family and friends!
