Stray Pit Bull’s Search For Shelter During Hurricane Leads To Heartwarming Rescue

Last October, when a hurricane struck Florida, a woman noticed something unusual on her security cameras — a skinny stray dog sniffing around her front porch. Adriana, who volunteers with Women Volunteers in Miami, realized the dog was searching for shelter from the storm, so she went outside to try and coax her over.

If you have trouble viewing the video above, try the version below.

The frightened dog looked up at Adriana with sad, wary eyes but was too scare to come closer. After 45 minutes of patient coaxing, the dog (now named Sandy) finally relented. Soon, she was warm, fed, and wrapped in cozy blankets.

A few days later, Sandy was at the vet receiving much-needed care thanks to help from Paw Patrol Animal Rescue. That’s where she met her foster mom, Cindy. The two instantly “clicked.” Under Cindy’s care, Sandy healed quickly. Her transformation just three months later is incredible.

When it came time to find Sandy a home, Cindy decided she couldn’t say goodbye and adopted her!
