Starving Dog Rescued After Months Alone In Arizona Desert
A Pit Bull named Valor was found starving in the Arizona desert, but thanks to a dedicated group of rescuers, he now has a brand-new life.
Someone found Valor and brought him to the shelter. He had valley fever, kennel cough, conjunctivitis, and two torn ACLs. Severely malnourished, he was at risk of being euthanized if no one stepped forward to help. That’s when Robyn, a foster volunteer with Love Them All Sanctuary & Rescue, agreed to take him in.

Robyn believes Valor was out in the desert alone for months. For two weeks, Valor stayed in her family’s back room to recover from his contagious illnesses. As he regained his strength, he began wagging his tail—sensing he was finally safe and loved. Over the next five months, he went from 38 pounds to 68 pounds, received TPLO surgery, and got the medication he needed to heal.
Valor was later placed with a foster-to-adopt family, but they couldn’t bear to part with him. They officially adopted him, and now he’s thriving as part of a loving pack. From the brink of death to a life filled with love, Valor’s story is a true rags-to-riches rescue.
