The Scariest Bridge In America

Is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge the scariest bridge in America? Inside Edition recently did a news piece exploring why the Maryland bridge terrifies many motorists. At around 200 feet high in some parts and 4.3 miles across, drivers who are afraid of heights or narrow causeways hate crossing it.

Not only does the bridge have narrow lanes, it also has low guard rails and no hard shoulders. Add to that the frequency of high winds and extreme weather… well, let’s just say that the Bay Bridge has earned its reputation of scariest bridge in the USA.

Crossing the bridge intimidates enough drivers that one man saw a business opportunity. He now has a successful business driving people in their own cars across the bridge!

Have you driven across this bridge? I don’t think I would want to go anywhere near it in the winter.

This bridge does look scary! It reminds me of this scary roadway in Norway that crosses the Atlantic ocean!
