Mom Takes Secondhand Dolls And Transforms Them Into Ones Girls Love

Dolls have gone through many changes over the years. Many sold today, with their heavy make-up and adult clothing, don’t really represent young girls anymore. Sonia Singh loved dolls as a little girl and had the idea to give second-hand dolls complete make-overs.

She repaints their faces and makes them new outfits and they are transformed into these amazing new ones, which she calls “Tree Change Dolls”.

It started out as a little hobby of hers to see if anyone would be interested, but after she posted a few pictures on social media things went crazy. Suddenly, Sonia’s Tree Change Dolls were being featured all over the media.

She had accidentally tapped into the debate about how girl’s toys were hyper-sexualized when compared to boys toys. Sonia says she wasn’t trying to make a statement about the dolls. Rather, she wanted to give old toys a new lease on life and a new natural style.

What’s great is that the kids really like her natural-looking dolls and prefer them over the old ones because the dolls actually look like them!

What a great mom, and what a great idea! I really hope manufacturers take note!
