Man Jumps Into Water to Save Drowning Koala

Some men out bicycling spotted an exhausted koala drowning in a river and stopped to help. They immediately sprung into action to try and bring the koala back to shore. Thinking on their feet, one of them brought a branch out into the water for the koala to hang onto.

The koala hung on for a bit but he was so fatigued that he began to sink underwater again, so the man approached the koala to grab hold of it. That’s when the man’s friend cautioned him against it as koalas have razor sharp claws. But the young man was determined to help the koala.

Moving closer to the koala, the Good Samaritan managed to grab the nape of the animal’s neck and drag it to shore. But the koala still didn’t budge. He was in worse condition than they originally thought. Not only was the koala out of energy, he was covered in mange so they decided to call Victoria Wildlife to come rescue him.

Thanks to their efforts, the koala has a chance to return to the wild.
