Long Distance Romance of Two Dogs Captures People’s Hearts

Never has there been two dogs who miss each other more than Sadie and Rollo. Their deep friendship has captured the hearts of dog lovers around the globe when their moms recently filmed them talking with each other via Facetime.

Sadie and Rollo’s love story began when they met during the pandemic when their moms moved into different apartments in the same house in Edmonton, Canada. The two dogs quickly bonded.

But when Rollo’s mom had to move three hours away for work, she and Sadie’s mom promised to Facetime every Thursday to let Sadie and Rollo see each other. This has lead to very vocally pining for one another as the dogs howl how much they miss each other and run to the window hoping to see their friend.

Media outlets are likening their love story to Romeo and Juliet (minus the tragedy). And videos of the two dogs howling when they Facetime certainly conveys that parting really is such sweet sorrow. The videos of the two dogs quickly went viral on TikTok with many people sympathizing with the dogs’ long-distance love affair.

There is a glimmer of hope, however. The moms told CNN reporter Jeanne Moos that the dogs have visited with each other since being separated and there is a chance that circumstances will change again in the future and they will once again be under the same roof, shifting from this tale from a tragedy to a comedy once again.
