Cube That Looks Like A UFO From Outside Actually Highly Functional Mobile Loft

When people first look at the LoftCube, they often remark that the home looks like a UFO. Werner Aisslinger, the German architect who designed the pop-up home, says that’s exactly what he wanted it to look like. It actually functions like one too, as the LoftCube is completely mobile and can easily be assembled, lifted and moved to another location.

The mobile home is made from the fiberglass that boats are made from and is around 430 square feet (40 sq m). The cube has floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that let in lots of natural light and the interior can be customized because it has adjustable panels that divide the interior space into a living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.

Designed back in 2003, Aisslinger initially did not sell that many. But with tiny homes becoming more popular nowadays, the portable, modern home will no doubt be appearing in more and more spaces. The prefab home can be assembled in under a week and lifted and placed wherever the home owner wants.

Aisslinger envisioned his homes sitting on top of existing rooftops, and some home owners have actually chosen to do this.
