Husband Tells Photographer What He Really Thinks About His Wife’s Retouched Boudoir Photos

When Victoria Caroline Haltom of Victoria Caroline Boudoir was beginning her photography business, she was hired by a woman who wanted a boudoir photo shoot as a gift for her husband.

“She was a curvy, beautiful size 18,” Victoria writes on Facebook. While Victoria thought the woman looked beautiful already, the woman asked her to Photoshop her photographs and remove every sign of a stretch mark, wrinkle and cellulite.

Haltom did as the woman requested but three days later she received an email from the woman’s husband. It’s a letter that would make her cry every time she read it, even 6 months after.

“When I opened the album that she gave to me, my heart sank,” the man wrote. “These pictures… while they are beautiful and you are clearly a very talented photographer…. they are not my wife.”

The husband wasn’t mad at her for taking the photographs, in fact he said they helped remind him of something important. Read his amazing email below:

Haltom points out that she can “Photoshop just about anything, but that she wants to encourage women to think twice about how much “altering” we do. “Our loved ones cherish and adore us just as we are,” she writes.

“This email was 100% real, and I cried like a baby with guilt for at least 6 months after that whenever I read it. I encourage you to embrace YOU just as you are!” She concludes, “…oh, and just in case you don’t have anyone telling you how beautiful you are tonight….YOU ARE SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL!!!!”

What a wonderful reminder to celebrate our bodies and our imperfections. It’s also a wonderful reminder for us to tell our loved ones how much we love them for who they are! Please share if you agree!
