How To Build A Solar Cabin For $2000

Looking for an off-the-grid cabin that won’t cost an arm and a leg? In this video, a man walks us through the building process he used to build himself a 14×14 solar cabin with 400 square feet of living space. He says he built it for under $2000 USD (minus the cost of windows and doors).

Built from scratch, the cabin has a bathroom, dining room and living area, and a loft space. The cabin’s appliances and toilet are powered by wind and sun and heated by either propane or wood stove.

It’s a pretty cozy cabin! And incredible when you realize he’s done it all from scratch for such a low amount of money!
