Many people grieving the loss of a loved one often share remarkably similar experiences, ones that they can’t always explain but that lead them to believe their deceased loved one is attempting to send them a message or comfort them from beyond the grave. People often say that their lost loved one has visited them in a dream, while others describe feeling a presence close to them.
Here are some of the common signs that people describe:
Dream visitations – These are often called vivid dreams or lucid dreams because they feel so real. People describe the dreams as intense and will often leave the person filled with emotion upon waking up.
Sensing their presence – People often describe feeling the presence of a deceased loved one close by. They notice a pressure in the bed next to them or feel their presence in a room.
Feeling their touch – Whether it be the sensation of fingers touching their hand, or a gentle touch on their back, many people will describe feeling comforted by a deceased loved one in the days directly following their passing.
Unexplainable phenomenon – Many people report their electrical devices going haywire – turning off or on, or the signals being interrupted – without explanation.
Smelling their fragrance – People commonly report smelling their lost loved one’s favorite perfume, or the scent of their favorite flowers. Others say they smell cigarette or cigar smoke (if they smoked) or cooking.
