Couple Do Hilarious Maternity Shoot For Their Adopted Kitten, Photos Go Viral

Lucy Schultz and her boyfriend Steven adopted their first kitten together and wanted to do something special to welcome the new cat into their family. Being a professional photographer, Lucy decided to mark the happy occasion with a special “maternity” photo shoot and asked her photographer friend, Elizabeth Woods-Darby, to take the photos.

They posted the adorably funny photos on Facebook, never expecting the images to go mega viral. Lucy kindly shared her photos of her “cat birth” with Reshareworthy.com and they can be seen below.

“On January 10th, 2018 we welcomed our first baby kitten, a neutered male domestic-long-haired cat,” Lucy wrote.

“He is 22″ long and weighed 6 pounds 7 oz. He is already eating solid food. Name to be announced. We just wanted to celebrate our joy of finally adopting a kitten, it’s been a long time coming. We are so in love!”

Lucy has fostered nearly a hundred cats in her home over the past 6 years and was waiting for the day she would bring her own home. She finally found the “right cat” at a shelter and she knew he was “The One”, she said.

The Denver-based couple adopted the cat and he’s now busy making himself right at home and loving all the attention.

Lucy and Steven loved the photos and people all over the world love them too.

Lucy told Reshareworthy.com they were all surprised how popular the photos have become: “We have found going viral to be a total roller coaster with lots of ups and downs.”

Lucy hopes that the photos makes people laugh and smile but also inspires people to support their local cat rescues, whether it be through adoptions, or volunteer work.

As for the unnamed cat, he’s settling in nicely.

“He likes being held, racing around the house, biting and lying on keyboards, watching the fish tanks, sleeping on people’s faces, and carrying toys around in his mouth,” Lucy said.

She added, “The cat isn’t named yet but we have some names in mind that we are considering, and we are considering adopting another cat to give him a buddy.”
