Team Of Rescuers Work Together To Save Coyote Stuck Inside Car Grill
A coyote is on the mend after running into traffic and getting accidentally hit. The driver, seeing the injured coyote, made sure to get him help. “There wasn’t enough time to stop when the coyote jumped in front of her car. She burst into tears when she saw him stuck inside the grill on her front bumper,” Newhouse Wildlife Rescue shared on Facebook.
The poor coyote’s body was almost completely inside the grill with only his two legs dangling out. The woman immeditately called authorities and Haverhill Animal Control responded. Thankfully, they were able to safely remove the injured coyote from the front bumper of her vehicle.

Newhouse Wildlife Rescue was then called. They wrote, “He appears to have two broken legs but is very much alive and has a lot of fight in him. We treated him for shock, immobilized his injured legs and worked to get his pain under control last night.”
The coyote has been transferred to another wildlife clinic where his injuries will be further assessed by orthopedic surgeons who will evaluate if his broken bones need to be operated on.
Newhouse Wildlife Rescue said they are thankful that the driver “cared enough to stop and get him and advocate for him after an unavoidable accident. They also are thankful that Haverhill Animal Control responded so quickly in addition to their own team members, stating “A lot of good people came together to give this young coyote the help he needed.”
This coyote is the one of three injured coyotes that Newhouse Wildlife Rescue has treated in the last 10 days. To make a donation and support their rescue visit: newhousewildliferescue.org
