Compassionate Firefighters Comfort Two Shaken Dogs After Highway Crash

Recently, Gabriella Obregon had a scary incident after her car spun out of control and slammed into a highway barrier on the Florida Turnpike. Thankfully, she and her dogs Simba and Aslan were not injured but they were shaken up. That’s where the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue stepped in and went above and beyond to help Gabriella comfort her Siberian Husky and Golden Retriever.

“My dogs were so nervous after we got into a car accident in the middle of the turnpike,” she shared on her TikTok channel. “They [the firefighters] allowed them to stay in their truck and even carried them to help them!”

@gabriella_obregon Guys how can we get this to their managers. my dogs were so nervous after we got into a car accident in the middle of the turnpike and they allowed them to stay in their truck & even carried them to help them!! kindness is so rare nowadays and I’m just so grateful to this group, especially Jared. In her video, firefighters can be seen gently cradling Simba and Aslan and carrying them to their firetruck. Gabriella couldn’t thank them enough. “Thank you, Palm Beach County firefighters, for being so human and treating my dogs with kindness,” she wrote.

Although Gabriella’s car was totalled, she seemed more focused on showing her gratitude to the firefighters. Guys how can we get this to their managers…kindness is so rare nowadays and I’m just so grateful to this group, especially Jared. Thank YOU.”

Several responders commented on the video. “One of the dispatchers on that call here,” wrote one person on TikTok. “We watched this happen on the turnpike cameras live and called the fire operations officer over to commend them while it was happening!” Gabriella responded, “Thank you for all that you do too.”

She later shared that both Aslan and Simba were checked by their vet and are doing well. Aslan got a small cut to his eye, but it was his only injury. Thanks to the popularity of her video, Gabriella was later invited to the fire station, where she and her dogs were warmly welcomed and where she had the chance to thank the team once again for their compassion.
