Dog Rescued From Hoarding Trembled With Fear Until Love Changed Everything

Radon, a small dog rescued from a hoarding situation along with four other dogs, was so scared of people that he would shake anytime someone approached him. Woods Humane Society reached out to Arianne to see if she could foster him and she gladly took him home.

Arianne immediately noticed that while Radon was comfortable with her dog, Gator, he would run away anytime she moved toward him. She also observed that he was most active at night. She guessed that Radon had learned nighttime was the safest time to come out because humans were asleep. Undeterred, Arianne set out to show him that people weren’t always scary.

It took more than two months of patience and effort to gain his trust. But when she did, Radon not only learned to love playing with other dogs, but he also found his voice—although, humorously, Arianne notes that it sounds more like a moo than a bark – so much so that Arianne’s neighbors asked her, “Are you fostering cows now?”

Radon has now been adopted and is living his best life, thanks in large part to the care and dedication of Arianne and her family.
