Fully Functioning Replica Of Original Titanic Set To Sail In 2018

Everyone knows about the ill-fated voyage of the Titanic, which sank in 1912 after hitting an iceberg. Flash forward 104 years and Australian billionaire, Clive Palmer has undertaken the construction of the Titanic II.

The major difference will be that the Titanic II will be wider, have a welded and not riveted hull, and have more lifeboats. It will also have modern satellite controls, navigation and other 21st-century ship technology.

Palmer says he is constructing the modern replica of the ship in memory of the people who were on board.

Given the scope of the project, the target date might be pushed back. But if all goes well, voyagers will be able to travel back in time!
