This tiny dog’s struggles after her rescue had me in tears. When Lemon the Chihuahua was brought to the Kent County Animal Shelter as a stray, she was emaciated, hypothermic and dehydrated and had growths on her eyes.
She was in such poor shape that she did not have enough energy to even stand up or sit upright. The only thing that seemed to be working on her tiny body was her tail, which wagged every time a rescuer picked her up or gave her some food.
This video traces her heartbreaking condition when she first arrived at the shelter to her uplifting recovery with her foster family. Lemon has such a fighting spirit and big heart that it’s no wonder she caught the attention of a loving family, who took her home!
