Plumber Feels Something Brush Against Him In The Lake And Becomes A Hero

Angelo Mondragon said he felt something brush against his leg when he entered the water of Lake Windsor in Windsor, Colorado. When he looked down he saw a tiny foot just beneath the surface – it was three-year-old Sitlali Hernandez, who was unconscious and drowning.

The plumber by profession grabbed the little girl in his arms and rushed to shore shouting for help. Luckily, two off-duty certified nurses rushed to his side and began performing CPR on the lifeless girl. Fortunately, after Mondragon blew a breaths of air into Sitlali’s lungs, she immediately exhaled.

Sitlali was rushed to hospital and is in good condition and she got to meet and thank her rescuer in person when Mondragon came to check on her. The two shared a heartfelt hug.

The big-hearted plumber says he is thankful he was in the right place at the right time and now wants to help collect life vests for families who can’t afford them to help prevent future accidents.
