Neurosurgeon’s Profound Near-Death Experience Changes His Thoughts On The Afterlife

For most of his life, Dr. Eben Alexander did not believe in afterlife. He had heard of near-death experiences during his career as a neurosurgeon, but considered them to be the result of hallucinations or fantasies. However, his beliefs were about to be shaken to the core.

Alexander woke up in the middle of the night in extreme pain, likening the pain to “being struck by a freight train.” What he thought was just a muscle spasm turned out to be a rare case of bacterial meningitis infecting his brain. By the time he got to hospital, he was in a coma. Doctors informed his wife that he may not wake up.

It was during his time in a coma that Alexander says he journeyed to a place he previously didn’t believe existed. Watch the video below to hear him tell of how he was guided through the afterlife and how when he woke up seven days later, his experience had completely changed his thoughts on the existence of heaven. It’s a powerful account and obviously had a profound effect on his life.
