Monster Alligator Walks Across Florida Golf Course, Stuns Golfers

Golfer Charles Helms and his friends couldn’t believe their eyes when a giant alligator leisurely walked in front of them at the third hole at Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Florida. That’s because the alligator wasn’t just large, he was monstrous!

Helms estimates the gator is around 15 to 16 feet long. To put that in perspective, the largest alligator ever recorded in Florida was 14 feet long, and the biggest in America was 15 feet long.

Apparently, this is not the first time the alligator has been spotted at the course. He’s been wandering the greens for years.

“He doesn’t bother anybody and they don’t bother him, he’s like a mascot for the course,” course employee Wendy Schofield told 3 News.

“He has been here for a very, very long time … There have been guesses that he’s 15 to 16 feet long,” she said.

When you see Helms in the foreground of this video you’ll get a sense of how big this gator really is. Talk about a golfing hazard!
