Man Who Walked Around the World for 27 Years Nears the Finish Line
On November 1, 1998, Karl Bushby set out on a walk around the world. Twenty-seven years later, he is nearing the end of his remarkable journey.

Bushby began his trek in Chile and has since walked around 30,000 miles. The British adventurer started when he was 29, and now, at 56, he is approaching the UK, marking the completion of his extraordinary odyssey. When asked why he undertook such an ambitious feat, he told CBS News, “Our lives are short and I’ve always wanted to live it to the fullest I can.”
Over the years, he has faced immense challenges, including navigating the dangerous Darién Gap and crossing the freezing waters of the Bering Strait, where he even had a run-in with a polar bear.
More recently, he started a TikTok channel to document the final chapter of his journey, answer questions, and share stories from his adventures.
