Man Boldly Saves Driver Having Seizure And Swerving Into Oncoming Traffic

A northern Illinois man is being hailed as a hero after he jumped through the open window of a moving car to save the driver, who was having a seizure.

According to the Dixon Police Department, Randy Tompkins was driving his truck when he spotted a car driving in the wrong lane and heading straight towards him.

He looked at the driver and noticed something looked medically wrong. That’s when he jumped out of his vehicle, ran up to the car and jumped right into the passenger side window, which happened to be open.

The department released dashcam footage of Tompkins in action (see video below).

“Tompkins was able to get the car in park just as officers approached the vehicle as well.” It was later revealed that Tompkins also prevented the convulsing driver from swallowing his tongue.

Police later praised the 39-year-old man on Twitter as a hero for coming to the aid of a “complete stranger”
