Joey, a sweet Pointer mix, was tied to a pole and abandoned in a park in San Pedro, California. No one would approach him because he was barking in fear.
That was until Lisa Snyder, who was homeless, stepped up to do whatever it took to save Joey’s life, including walking three miles in the pouring rain to get him to a shelter. (You can read the full story of Snyder’s rescue of Joey here.)

“It makes me feel like I did the job right!” Lisa says of the good fortune that has come her way as result of meeting Joey. “If people will pull through for Joey, there’s still hope we’ll pull through for each other as well.”
