Dash Cam Footage Captures Heroic State Trooper Giving Man CPR After Car Crash

Footage from a trooper’s dash camera has gone viral and is sure to give you chills when you hear him screaming, “Don’t you die on me! Come on, open your eyes!” while performing CPR on the passed out driver.

Trooper Eric Devers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a Certificate of Recognition on August 13, 2015 for saving the life of a truck driver who crashed after passing out in his truck.

Trooper Devers found the driver belted in the driver’s seat taking low, gasping breaths with his eyelids half-closed. “After a short amount of time, the driver’s eyes rolled back into his head; he slumped over and quit breathing,” Ohio State Highway Patrol revealed. “A passerby who stopped to assist Trooper Devers kept the driver upright as Trooper Devers performed CPR chest compressions until EMS arrived.”

“In total, Trooper Devers was on the scene for 12 minutes prior to medical personnel arriving, at which time the driver began breathing on his own and stabilized,” said Ohio State Highway Patrol. They added that the driver was taken to hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
