Police Say Protective Dog Stopped Sexual Assault Of Girl

A heroic dog saved a young girl being sexually assaulted in Oran, Missouri earlier this month according to police.

Detectives with Scott County sheriff’s department said they received a call on February 4, 2016 from the victim, who is under 14, reporting that Richie M. Dock assaulted her at his apartment.

She told detectives that Dock kissed and touched her inappropriately and when she pushed him away he threatened to beat her with a stick. According to the victim, the man straddled her legs and exposed himself. She called her dog who bit the man until he stopped. She was able to break free and call police.

Scott County sheriff’s deputies arrested 55-year-old Dock, a registered sex offender, and charged him with felony sexual abuse, sodomy and felonious restraint.

Police are holding Dock on a $25,000 bond.
