Fast-Food Cashier’s Small Act Of Kindness Results In Big Reward

I love stories of individuals paying it forward in a small gesture only to have their random act of kindness rewarded unexpectedly! That’s what happened to Travis Sattler, an employee at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in Katy, Texas. The fast-food restaurant serves popular custard desserts. Travis was nearing the end of his shift when a young boy approached his register clutching some crumpled bills.

The child wanted to order a mini cup of mint Oreo custard but was worried he did not have enough money. He handed Travis everything he had, but he was still two dollars short. Rather than turn the boy away, Travis pulled out his own credit card and told the kid the treat was on him. The boy was surprised but very pleased!

Just 30 minutes later, as the boy and his mom were leaving the restaurant, the boy handed him a note on the receipt. It read, “Thank you for being so nice and paying for my concrete. We need more people like you!” And wrapped up in the receipt? A one hundred dollar bill!

Travis said it made his day. He plans on putting the money towards his nursing school education. It’s wonderful how Travis’ generosity ended up brightening the day of both the boy and himself!
