This story of love and devotion is so touching! When Betty Caldwell passed away two years ago, her husband Bud dedicated a park bench in her memory. The two were married for almost 56 years; Bud continues to honor her memory by visiting her bench every day and bringing her a penny and daisy, tokens from the couple’s two favorite songs ‘Daisy a Day’ and ‘Pennies From Heaven’.
But of late, heavy snow in his town of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin has made it impossible for Bud to get to the bench. Seeing he was having difficulty, two city workers decided to help. “Two young men did such a nice thing for one old man,” said Bud. What a wonderful act of kindness for such a kind man!
