Rescued Dwarf Mini Horse Begins to Thrive After Meeting His Dog Siblings

When Stacy first brought Tubby home, he had the worst underbite she had ever seen — and she’s rescued a lot of miniature horses. The horse with dwarfism was also lethargic and withdrawn.

But once Stacy brought him inside her home, his eyes began to brighten, and he slowly started to come alive.

Within a week of being around caring people — and Stacy’s friendly Golden Retrievers — the horse with dwarfism began to thrive “like a spring flower”. His personality started to shine through, and he grew stronger each day.

Tubby will always be a special-needs horse, but now he’s exactly where he belongs: safe, loved, and in gentle hands.

Tubby is not the only miniature horse with dwarfism that Stacy has rescued at R and R Ranch Minis. Watch her video where she talks about the health challenges dwarf mini horses face.

@randrranchminis There are huge differences between Dwarf Mini Horses, and Mini Horses. Our sanctuary rescues both of these animals, and our goal is to help each of them live a better life. All of our horses have their own names, their own personalities, and we cover them in depth on all of our pages.
